Easton football player killed in police shooting
A college football player from Easton was killed by police in a New York City suburb over the weekend.
20-year-old Danroy Henry was a junior defensive back-wide receiver at Pace University who once starred at Oliver Ames High School in Easton.
Police in Mount Pleasant, New York in Westchester County were called to break up a fight outside a bar early there Sunday morning.
Henry was in a car when police approached him. They say he sped away, hitting an officer who landed on the hood of Henry's car. Another officer tried to help, but was also hit by the car.
Police started shooting and Henry's car crashed into a police cruiser.
He died a short time later.
A passenger in his car was treated for a minor gunshot wound.
Four police officers were hurt in the incident.
More details are expected at a police news conference in Mount Pleasant Monday.
