Eastham Resident Captures Image Of Shark Feeding Near Beach
EASTHAM (CBS) -- In a clear sign that large sharks continue to be active in waters off Cape Cod, a local resident captured an image of a shark apparently feeding on a seal off Coast Guard Beach.
Bruce Langsen of Eastham told WBZ-TV that he and his son were at the beach early Sunday morning to take some photographs.
Langsen said he heard his son exclaim, "Oh my God. Oh my God," and, when he turned to see what was happening, a shark was visible about 100 yards from the shore surrounded by blood-stained water.
The Eastham man said he believes the fearsome fish was a great white feeding on a seal. He reported the incident to the Coast Gaurd, which informed local authorities.
