Body Of Apparent Stabbing Victim Found Near Boston's Logan Airport
BOSTON (CBS) – An investigation is underway after a body was found Christmas Eve near Logan Airport in Boston.
Police said they responded to 99 Airport Way by Hilton Boston Logan Airport at about 10:45 p.m. Saturday night. They found the body of a male in his late teens with apparent stab wounds.
The crime has prompted some apprehension in the East Boston neighborhood.
"It's fairly safe. Like any other neighborhood in Boston, you need to keep an eye out," one area resident told WBZ.
The male victim was found in the area of Sartori Memorial Stadium. The victim had multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
People living in this neighborhood in the shadow of Logan Airport are now on heightened alert.
"I live in the building and we were notified by postings in the building. So we were probably one of the first to know so we're pretty thankful of that. We just remain vigilant. We have to."
At this point, the identity of the victim has not been released and there has been no arrest. It all adds up to an uneasy feeling on what should be a relaxing holiday.
"When you live in the city, Boston's been kind of dangerous these days. I'm not surprised. You hear shootings - Dorchester or anywhere, every day. I'm kind of numb about it. You have to be just careful where you are."
"It's very unfortunate. I feel very sorry for the family. My heart goes out to them and I hope they find out the circumstances."
