Early November Warm Up Is Underway
Not much else to say to what has already been said...but let's give it another shot shall we!? High pressure sitting over us has supplied Cold and calm conditions, ideal for radiational cooling overnight. The early morning was greeted with a hard frost and freeze across the region. Places like Concord & Keene, NH to Bedford and Taunton, MA started off near 20 degrees. After such a cold and frosty start, temps are quickly on the rise for Sunday. The Early November warm up has begun!
The High will slowly drift and set up south of New England for the next few days and wrap in unseasonably warm temps into the northeast from the midwest. After being stuck in the cool 40's yesterday, highs on Sunday will be quickly rising in the afternoon climbing into the 50's to near 60 in a few isolated spots. Tonight will be cool, clear and calm...but not as cool as last night thanks to a warmer SW wind direction. Lows will fall into the 30's overnight.
Temps will climb into the Lwr-mid 60's Monday, and Mid-upper 60's to near 70 Tuesday and Wednesday. The upper level ridge will hold through the midweek, before breaking down to a midlevel trough which will swing through Thursday & Friday. A front will push through Thursday into Early Friday...providing the chance of periodic showers. Strong NW behind the front will supply a cold shot of air for Friday and Saturday....before more ridging and warmth returns for the second half of next weekend.
The Sun is becoming quite active with one of the largest sun spots we have seen in years. Solar flares from the Sun may provide the chance for some viewing of the Northern Lights the next few evenings. Spaceweather.com is a great place to go to track the Aurora. Never mind the Asteroid the size of aircraft carrier which will miss the Earth Tuesday. An approaching full moon on Thursday will help to illuminate the evening skies which will have a milder feel for the next few nights. Gotta love Indian Summer weather as many signs of the impending winter continue to pile up. Enjoy the warmth while it lasts!
