Tsarnaev Had Several Gunshot Wounds, Fractured Skull When Captured
BOSTON (CBS) – Accused Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was suffering from several gunshot wounds and a fractured skull when police found him in Watertown, according to newly released court documents.
Back in April, during a court hearing at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center where Tsarnaev was treated, a trauma surgeon described Tsaraev's injuries three days after he was captured.
The transcript of that testimony has been obtained by WBZ-TV.

In it, Dr. Stephen Ray Odom said Tsarnaev had multiple gunshot wounds, "the most severe of which appears to have entered through the left side inside of his mouth and exited the left face, lower face," Odom is quoted in the transcript.
"This was a high-powered injury that has resulted in skull-base fracture, with injuries to the middle ear, the skull base, the lateral portion of his C1 vertebrae, with a significant soft-tissue injury, as well as injury to the pharynx, the mouth, and a small vascular injury that's been treated," he said.
Tsarnaev, 20, was captured four days after the bombings hiding in a boat in a backyard in Watertown.
He is being held at a federal prison hospital in Devens.
