Drivers Urged To Use Headlights In Callahan Tunnel
BOSTON (CBS) - The reflective panels that help keep the Callahan Tunnel from being dark and gloomy are coming down.

One of those 100-pound panels fell last month, prompting an inspection of the rest of them.
The brackets that hold the panels up are starting to rust, so it's more cost-effective to just remove them now, according to State Highway Administrator Frank DePaola.
"We have approximately 75-percent of the 2,400 panels down. There's around 600-to-650 left. We're hoping by Monday morning next week we will have them all down," he told WBZ NewsRadio 1030.
Because the lighting level will be lower, DePaola said drivers should use their headlights in the tunnel.
The tunnel is due for a thorough renovation next year.
