Drew Signing Official, Will Wear #7 With Red Sox
BOSTON (CBS) - The Boston Red Sox officially announced the signing of shortstop Stephen Drew to a one-year deal on Wednesday.
For Red Sox fans that held on to their J.D. Drew Red Sox jerseys, the signing will be a bit of a bonus.
While many fans are pointing out that Drew and his older brother share a similar track record with injuries, the two will also have the same jersey. Drew will wear #7 with the Red Sox, the same number J.D. wore during his five-year stint in Boston.

The 29-year-old Drew is a career .265 career hitter with 181 doubles, 52 triples, 77 home runs, and 349 RBI over his seven-year MLB career. After spending his entire career with Arizona, Drew was traded to Oakland last August and started 39 of the A's last 41 games of the season as they marched to an American League West title. Drew hit .250 with five home runs and 16 RBI in his time with Oakland.
This marks the 11th time a set of brothers have both played for the Red Sox. The last set of brothers to play for Boston was Pedro and Ramon Martinez, who both toed the rubber for the Red Sox during the 2000 season.
