Dragan Bender Will Work Out For Celtics Ahead Of NBA Draft
BOSTON (CBS) -- The Boston Celtics will get another look at this year's international man of mystery ahead of the NBA Draft.
According to veteran basketball reporter David Pick, Dragan Bender will work out for three NBA teams ahead of the June 23 draft, including the C's on June 21.
Bender, an 18-year-old Croatian phenom who stands at 7-foot-1, is the great unknown in this year's draft after averaging 4.4 points and 2.5 rebounds for Maccabi Tel Aviv last season. He's projected by some to go as high as No. 3 later this month, and is a Top 10 pick in most mock drafts.
Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge already got a look at Bender and other international prospects on a European scouting trip earlier this offseason.
