Dr. Mark Adickes Speaks About Possible 18-Game NFL Season
BOSTON (CBS) - Currently, the NFL season consists of four preseason games and 16 regular season games. Commissioner Roger Goodell wants to change that so teams play two preseason games (which generate less money for the NFL) and 18 regular games.
A lot of players don't like the idea because even though they will play the same number of games, there's more chance of injury during the regular season.
Who better to discuss the issue than Dr. Mark Adickes, the former Super Bowl champion with the Washington Redskins is now a Harvard-trained orthopedic surgeon, so he's been on both sides on the controversy.
Dr. Adickes spoke with WBZ NewsRadio editor Suzanne Sausville, who asked him if he thinks the proposed new schedule would make a difference for players.
