Dozens Arrested In Roxbury Drug-Trafficking Sweep
BOSTON (CBS/AP) -- Boston Police say approximately 30 people were arrested after a drug-trafficking sweep Tuesday morning in Roxbury.
Police served a number of warrants out of Roxbury District, Suffolk Superior and U.S. District courts for drug offenses.
Many of the suspects are gang members, police told WBZ NewsRadio 1030.
More arrests are expected.
The charges are based on controlled buys, extensive surveillance, and two months of testimony before the grand jury. Fourteen defendants have been indicted.
A police department spokeswoman says authorities are obtaining search warrants for several houses in the neighborhood.
