Downpours...
The remnants of Isaac have finally made it to the Northeast and there is still plenty of moisture associated with the formerly tropical system to give us some soaking rain. Towns throughout Metrowest have already received about a half inch of rain today and with several more rounds of tropical downpours over the next 24 hours, some spots may top two inches of rain. This evening a warmfront is working trough from the south...once it passes through dewpoints will climb from the 60s to the lower 70s regionwide by morning making the air very muggy. Isaac's center will travel north of us late tonight sending a coldfront our way tomorrow afternoon, that front coupled with the muggy air and splashes of sunshine will promote two rounds of heavy downpours...the wettest of the two will be in the morning and pockets of street flooding will be possible. That surge of rain will exit by midday as intervals of sunshine work in and temps climb into the lower 80s by afternoon. Unfortunately because of the sun and some upper level energy another round of storms will be possible for the ride home from work and there is a chance they could grow strong enough for some wind and hail.
The front will be gone Wednesday night and drier and less humid air will return for Thursday. Another coldfront will swing through Friday afternoon with another chance for storms into the evening...at this time it doesn't look that active so any action will be isolated to scattered.
Tropical Storm Leslie will be in the news all week...it is nearly stationary south of Bermuda. Late in the week, Leslie will move north and may impact Bermuda as a dangerous hurricane. At this time, all indications are that Leslie will get shoved to the east of us by an approaching front keeping all the wind and rain well out to sea. We will see impacts along our beaches though with large waves and rip currents over the next 10 days...please be extra careful near the water if plan on being a spectator.
