Man Shot And Killed While Sitting In Car In Dorchester
BOSTON (CBS) – A man in his 20's was shot and killed while sitting in a car on a Dorchester street.
Police responded to Nazing Street on Saturday morning.
The shooting took place less than a block away from another recent homicide. Crimes scene tape from Saturday's shooting marked off an area just feet away from a makeshift memorial for the previous victim.
"I don't know how much more the community or the neighborhood can withstand," one Dorchester resident told WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Carl Stevens. "Something has to be done, I don't know where you start."
Police said there will be "increased coverage" in the area after the second killing in two weeks. The shooting does not appear to be random, police say.
Officers were seen on Seaver Street, searching for a suspect who reportedly ran following the fatal shooting.
No arrests had been made as of Saturday night.
