19-Year-Old Grazed In The Head By A Bullet In Dorchester
DORCHESTER (CBS) -- A shooting that injured one person in Dorchester shut down part of Intervale Street, not far from two schools and a park.
Boston Police responded to the scene around 10:30 p.m. on Monday. Crime tape blocked off the area as they investigated.
According to police, a 19-year-old man's head was grazed by a bullet. He was transported to Boston Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
"There's little kids that play here, there's a school right here. They don't have any sympathy for human life," said Ana Gonzalez.
Gonzalez lives near where the shooting occurred and calls the victim a friend.
"I hope he's going to be okay, I'm just praying," she said. "He's a good kid. He's not like these kids be in the streets doing all this stuff."
At the scene, windows of a nearby red sedan and a silver sedan were shattered windows and cracked by bullet holes.
"It's sad because these are people's kids this is happening to," said Gonzalez, who wants to see the violence in her neighborhood stop.
There is no word on any arrests or a possible motive.
Gonzalez said, "It's horrific. It's horrifying to come out of your house and seeing these young people just laying on the street every other day. It's disturbing."
