Dorchester Church Celebrates Major Milestone
BOSTON (CBS) -- Dr. Gwendolyn Weeks, pastor of Bethel Tabernacle Pentecostal Church in Dorchester, is celebrating a huge milestone in the church's history.
On Sunday, the church held a special service honoring church founder Bishop Thomas Weeks, 97, who established the church 55 years ago. The congregation also celebrated being in a new, fully renovated location free of debt.
Bishop Weeks was given the honor of burning the church's $2.5 million bank note, which 150 church members paid off in less than four years.
"It's paid in full," Dr. Weeks said.
