Dont'a Hightower, Bob Kraft With Gresh & Zo: First-Round Pick Already Has Sights Set On Super Bowl
Patriots first-round draft pick Dont'a Hightower and Patriots owner Robert Kraft sat down with Gresh and Zo on Friday afternoon.
Coming from such a successful program at Alabama, Hightower said he was thrilled to be joining a Patriots organization that is a championship contender every year.
"I'm trying to go and get a Super Bowl ring," Hightower said. "I'm definitely glad to be a part of it."
Hightower also discussed some of the similarities he expects from Bill Belichick to his college coach, Nick Saban.
"Those two guys are a lot alike," Hightower said. "Both of them have had a lot of success no matter where they've been and what they've done."
Regarding his place on the team, Hightower isn't worried about where and when exactly he will play.
"I'm not really sure where I'm going to fit in, but the fact that I'm versatile just kind of shows that I can play any position," he said, while also clarifying that despite some reports, he is 6-foot-3.
Kraft said he was excited the team was able to move up twice to draft Hightower and Chandler Jones, but he's been around long enough to know that no team can win the SUper Bowl in April.
"I'm very excited about both of them being here, but I've learned that I think everybody's excited draft day," Kraft said. "Really, it's what happens in the fall, and are we playing in January, that really counts."
