Morning Of 11/9 After Election Night Drawing 9/11 Comparisons

BOSTON (CBS) -- History was made in the early hours of November 9, 2016 in America as the country voted and elected Donald Trump as the 45th president of the United States.

As always with an election, there's pushback from both sides. But this year it was supercharged with the divisive nature of Trump as well as the prominence of social media platforms.

Twitter and Facebook are currently serving many roles: a political battlefield, a sanctuary for people to find the lighter side of politics as well as a launchpad for drawing harrowing comparisons surrounding the date. It didn't take long for anyone to swap the 11/9 to 9/11.

England writes the date inverse to us, making it a direct correlation to the darkest day in the country.

M.I.A. was far from the only to notice the numbers.

#Numbers!

Similar slogans have been erected to further drive home the point.

Thankfully, there's sanguinity to be found. Rather than seeing it as an apocalyptic premonition, some are using it as a call to stand together and shoot down others who would dare compare this to one of the country's darkest days.
