Dog Owners Warned After Coyote Attacks In Lynn

LYNN (CBS) - Dog owners are being warned to keep their pets on a leash in Lynn after a jump in coyote attacks.

All of the attacks, at least five in three days, have happened on the Lynn Woods Reservation.

In each case, the dog was let off its leash by its owner. Ranger Dan Small says the coyotes are hunting for a reason.

"They usually have their puppies right about now," says Small. "We're not really having a good year for chipmunks or squirrels so their food supply is down and I think they are just on a very aggressive level because they are having trouble finding food."
