Dog Days...
Today's high in Boston was 87 degrees...the warmest of the month. Although Boston didn't touch 90 a handful of suburbs did and with heat lingering through Thursday a short heat wave is possible for some in Southern New England.
Not much to see here as a warm ridge of high pressure will hold strong until Thursday afternoon when a cold front advances from the west with our only real chance of rain for several straight days. The front will be preceded by very muggy air on Thursday and an influx of moisture elevating the shower and thunderstorm chances by the evening. The front will be a slow mover, like so many other fronts during the Summer, this will keep clouds and even a few additional showers around on Friday morning before the cooler and drier air win out a set up shop here in New England for the weekend.
