One Year Later, No Arrests In Denise Robert Murder
MANCHESTER, N.H (CBS) -- It's been one year since the murder of Denise Robert, who was shot to death while taking a walk in her neighborhood.
No arrests have been made in connection to the murder, which was reportedly a drive-by shooting.
The 62-year-old advertising saleswoman had worked for the New Hampshire Union Leader since March 1983.
Last September, a $17,500 reward was offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction of her killer.
In November, the FBI joined the murder mystery probe.
Denise's brother Tom Robert described his sister a caring woman.
"A year has gone by, and I guess I've been working a lot, it's just helping me cope," he said.
Tom and his family receive periodic updates on the investigation, but so far all leads have turned up nothing.
"We're looking for closure like anybody would but it's not easy," he said
Police have gone door-to-door searching for information, with little being made public about the investigation.
Assistant Attorney General Jane Young says tips have been coming in, but they're still looking for anyone who can identify a pickup truck that was seen in the area at the time of the murder. The truck and its driver have never been identified.
"It's my genuine hope that we will be able to tell this family one day that we do have enough evidence to be able to explain to them what happened to their sister, why, and hold the individual or individuals responsible for her death accountable," Young said.
Tom hopes anyone who heard any rumor or overheard anything about the case in a passing conversation, no matter how minor, will come forward.
"It could be the thing that makes everything else make sense," he said.
