Deep Freeze Time...

Hi everybody...I've noticed some of you getting  frustrated with other bloggers...unfortunately we can't police the site but I and the rest of the team really hope you hang in there and keep posting.

Cold air is pouring in at the surface creating some steep low level lapse rates this evening...the result have been for some intense, prolonged snow showers and squalls mostly up in Essex County.  The low levels will be more stable later this evening and the snow will end.  Good mixing is occurring in this environment and gusty winds are being transferred from a few thousand feet up...gusts over 40mph for the next couple of hours are possible.  That wind is also transporting in some very cold air...we had a 7 degree temps drop earlier this evening in Worcester in just 40 minutes!  By morning, many will be down in the single digits.  The pattern looks quiet and cold going into the end of the week...although we are still monitoring the northern edge of a large ocean storm...it still may graze extreme SE New England early Thursday morning.

Other than that our next chance for any precip would be mainly some snow showers or light snow over the weekend.  A vort max Saturday afternoon could fire off  some snow showers and a little warm air advection could lead to some light snow on Sunday.
