2 Wanted In Shooting Of Dedham Gas Station Clerk

DEDHAM (CBS) – Dedham Police are looking for two men wanted for shooting a gas station clerk during an attempted robbery. Police say the attempted robbery may be related to an armed robbery in Dedham earlier this week.

The men were wearing masks when they went into the Sunoco on Ames Street shortly before 11 p.m. Thursday and demanded money from the attendant behind the counter.

"They pulled a gun on him and he tried to knock the gun out of the hand and he couldn't," store owner Jack Audy told reporters Friday morning.

The clerk then told the men if they came near him, he would push the panic button for the alarm. Audy said that's when one of the men shot the clerk in the right leg. The two ran away with nothing.

Below are surveillance photos from the robbery. Police say the taller suspect shot the clerk.

The clerk, Kazum Al Majedi, was rushed to the hospital with what police said is a "non-life threatening injury."

The entire incident was recorded on surveillance video, according to Audy.

"It's a safe area. I can't believe it," he said.

An armed robbery that took place Monday at around 8:40 p.m. at Terri's Market on Louise Road may be related, police say. Below is a surveillance photo of the suspect from that robbery.

Police believe the men may have escaped in a dark blue or gray SUV, such as a Honda Pilot.
