Man Killed In Route 24 Crash In Fall River

FALL RIVER (CBS) -- A man was killed in a crash that shut down southbound lanes on Route 24 Tuesday morning.

Police report that a 2000 Acura struck a guardrail and stopped with part of the car sticking out onto the highway. An SUV then struck the Acura on the side.

A third vehicle in the crash, a van, hit the SUV from behind, causing the van to flip over.

The driver of the SUV, 65-year-old Yau Wong Li of West Roxbury, was declared dead at the scene after he was hit by his own vehicle after it was struck by the van.

The State Police says all lanes were reopened around 7:20 a.m.

The crash remains under investigation. No charges have been filed at this time.
