22-Year-Old Killed In Cape Cod Crash, Part Of Route 6 East Shut Down
DENNIS (CBS) - One person was killed and second was seriously injured in a crash on Cape Cod Saturday afternoon.
State Police report that the single car crash involving a Lexus sedan happened on Route 6 eastbound in Dennis.
The driver, a 22-year-old man from New York, was transported to Cape Cod Hospital with serious injuries. Police describe his condition as "stable."
The passenger, a 22-year-old woman, died at the scene. She has not yet been identified.
State Police said preliminary reports indicated that speed was not a factor in the crash.
As of 5 p.m., the road was shut down at Exit 9 while accident reconstruction teams worked to figure out the exact cause of the crash.
All traffic was being diverted to Route 6A and Route 28.
Significant traffic delays were reported in the area.
