Day Of Change

As advertised, yesteday was a hot one!  Boston and Worcester were both one degree shy of tying their daily records.  Boston topped off at 97F while Worcester climbed to 92F.

Today will be another hot one and humid with high temperatures near 90F and dewpoints near 70F.  It will be partly sunny and steamy hot during the midday hours before storms begin to fire up during the afternoon.  These storms may become strong to severe with the best potential occurring from the Mass Pike and points south.  CAPE values in those neighborhoods are near 2000-3000 as well as LI values around -5.  The cold front that will be responsible for triggering the storms will *slowly* move south of Cape Cod early tonight.

Showers and storms will gradually move offshore early tonight and allow for partially clearing skies after midnight.  Lows will be in the middle 60s.

Thursday may include some lingering cloud cover and a shower or two across Southeastern Massachusetts early in the morning. Otherwise, Thursday is showing promise for plenty of sunshine along with much more refreshing air. The dewpoints will be dropping into the 40s and 50s.

Friday is showing another wave of low pressure developing on the stalled front to our south. That may increase cloud cover for Southeastern Massachusetts.  At the moment, it looks like the showers will stay near Connectivut and Rhode Island. We'll have to watch the frontal movement as we receive the latest model updates.  Highs on Friday will be near 80F...70s coast.

This weekend is still looking great! It's going to be a sunny Saturday with highs in the lower 80s...cooler coast.  Sunday will be sunny with clouds rolling in during the evening.  Highs on Sunday will be slightly warmer in the middle 80s...cooler Cape Cod/Islands.

There will be a chance of showers and storms early next week.
