Dave Richard: 'I've Got A Hunch About C.J. Anderson'
BOSTON (CBS) - CBS Sports fantasy football guru Dave Richard called in to 98.5 The Sports Hub's Toucher & Rich Thursday morning to provide his Week 6 advice.
Right out of the gate to start the interview, Richard clued us in to one player in particular he's very excited about this week and beyond.
"I like running back C.J. Anderson with the Broncos. I know Ronnie Hillman is gonna be the guy that people have already picked up, if that's you then get yourself C.J. Anderson too," said Richard.
"This is a hunch play. This isn't knowing anything, or talking to coaches, or any sources or anything like that. We've seen Ronnie Hillman before. He's had I think seven games in his career where he's had 10 or more touches, and he's delivered in fantasy zero of those times. He's been given opportunities like this before and he's struggled. If you've got Hillman on your team, great. If you can get him on your team, great. But I think C.J. Anderson will be the running back that you'll want with Montee Ball on the shelf."
The Patriots travel to Buffalo this week and Richard believes it will be a competitive game. Journeyman quarterback Kyle Orton is now the starter for the Bills, and Richard believes he'll target Sammy Watkins a ton.
Richard also said that Rams quarterback Austin Davis "is not fool's gold" and doesn't think the 49ers will be able to get to him, so if you're somebody with Drew Brees on a bye week then maybe you go add Austin Davis.
The Chargers are riddled with injuries at the running back position. First Ryan Mathews, then Danny Woodhead and now Donald Brown with a concussion.
Richard loves Branden Oliver against Oakland this Sunday, who broke out against the Jets last week.
"The Raiders stink on defense. They just lost another linebacker. The Chargers don't have anybody else. They'll have Branden Oliver, Shaun Draughn and Ronnie Brown as their running backs. You'll see Oliver get a lot of work if Donald Brown is inactive," said Richard.
