Daughter Of Lifelong Patriots Fan Marries Giants Player
WALTHAM (CBS) - A Waltham family finds itself in a Super Bowl tug-of-war. Richard Cincotta is a Waltham contractor who's had Patriots season tickets for more than a quarter century. But everything changed when his daughter married her Cornell sweetheart. He is # 77, Kevin Boothe, who plays both guard positions and center for the New York Giants.
This week, Cincotta has been wearing two hats, a Patriots cap with a Giants hat over it.
"It's going to be a tough game," says Cincotta. "It's a great match up, and the Giants are going to win." If he sounds like a traitor, he says he has a good excuse. "Family first; always have family first."
WBZ-TV's Christina Hager reports
Cincotta did not win Super Bowl seats in the lottery for season ticket holders. That didn't matter, because his son-in-law came through.
He leaves for Indianapolis later this week, and plans to wear a Giants jersey to the game. No matter how it ends, he says, he comes out a winner.
