Dartmouth College Security Investigating Report Of Sexual Assault
HANOVER, N.H. (AP) — Dartmouth College authorities are investigating a report of a sexual assault but Hanover police aren't involved because the victim has not filed a complaint with law enforcement.
Harry Kinne, director of Dartmouth's security office, told the Valley News that a female student reported being forced into her residence hall and dorm room by an attacker early Sunday morning. The student said the man told her he is not a Dartmouth student.
While Dartmouth has an agreement with town police to report certain incidents, it will not provide a victim's name to police if she declines to cooperate.
The incident comes two weeks after a female college employee reported being dragged off a sidewalk and sexually assaulted.
