Dana-Farber Named Best Cancer Center In New England
BOSTON (CBS) -- For the 16th year in a row, U.S. News & World Report has named the Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women's Cancer Center New England's best place for cancer care.
The institute ranks fourth nationwide, behind Houston's University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, New York's Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota.
CEO Ed Benz said Dana-Farber is working on some of the most promising developments in cancer care, including immunotherapy.
"These treatments are really, probably the most exciting thing happening in cancer therapy right now, and it's just the beginning," he told WBZ NewsRadio 1030.
Dana-Farber's work was featured on the front page of Sunday's New York Times.
The magazine also gave high praise to other Boston hospitals. Massachusetts General Hospital was ranked third on the "Best Hospitals Honor Roll," while Brigham and Women's Hospital came in at No. 13.
