Dan Roche On Gresh & Zo: 'Uehara Was Devastated'
WBZ-TV's Dan Roche joined Gresh & Zo to recap Red Sox game 3 ALDS loss against the Tampa Bay Rays and preview Game 4 tonight. Roche analyzes John Farrell's managerial decisions and professes the Red Sox biggest concern going forward in the postseason.
The guys started off discussing Game 3 and what the big swing was in that game. For Roche it was the fifth inning with two on and two outs For the Rays, first base was open and Evan Longoria was at the plate. Longoria took Clay Buchholz deep and tied things up at three.
"I think with an open base in that situation I'm putting Longoria on simply because of what he has done in the post season, what he's done to end seasons," Roche told the pair.
Did Roche have an issue taking David Ortiz out in the eighth inning and putting Quintin Berry in to pinch run?
What Concerns does Roche have for tonight's Game 4?
Red Sox closer gave up gave the game winning walk off home run to Rays backup catcher Jose Lobaton. Roche believes that Uehara is a concern moving forward because the Sox need him to perform well if they hope to win.
"Uehara was devastated, devastated. That the one thing concerns me...It'll be excruciatingly painful for Red Sox fans to watch if Uehara comes in with a one run lead in that bottom of the ninth, it'll be tough. You almost want it to happen because you're going to find out, okay he's rebounded and here we go, because you're going to need this guy."
Do the Red Sox get the victory and move on to the ALCS or will it come to a Game 5 in Boston?
