Dan Roche Authors Stirring Poem Before Leaving Red Sox Spring Training

Friday is a sad day in Fort Myers.

The mighty Dan Roche is going home.

Yes, all good things must come to an end, and the man who has dutifully called in to every Sports Hub program all week long wrapped up his week in Fort Myers with a call to Toucher & Rich.

Though Rochie's discussion covered a range of topics, he delighted all by closing with a poem he wrote himself. It was magical.

Goodbye, green grass
The time has passed ... way too fast
I tried to make it last

No more spikes or gloves or baseball bats,
Or jerseys, pants or baseball hats

I'll miss the Fort, it was so much fun
I'll miss the warmth, the burning of the sun

No Pedey, or Papi, or Hanley, too
No Clay, Pablo
It makes me go 'Boo-hoo!'

Goodbye, Red Sox, we'll see you soon,
But with the snow at Fenway, it may not be until June

Bravo, Daniel Rochespeare. Bravo.
