Damaging Downburst...

The NWS just issued their findings on the damage out in Wilbraham.  They say that a downburst with winds as high as 90-100mph toppled a swath of trees 2 miles long and hundreds of yards wide.  They say that there was no evidence of a tornado...all straight line wind damage.  Regardless, similar destruction occurred as an EF1 Tornado!

Drier air is flowing into New England now and we are in for another very nice Summer day.  In the afternoon, however, high clouds will start streaming in and they may filter the sun out quite a bit too.

Friday, another frontal system will be sliding through.  In the morning a warmfront with several elevated showers along it then in the evening a coldfront with potential for strong t-storms.  The inhibiting factor will be the lack of surface heating.  Right now I'd say that we won't see enough sun for dangerous thunderstorms.

Over the weekend, both days will be rain-free and Saturday looks hot with in the lower 90s.  Seabreezes should prevent 90 degrees for the coast on Sunday but it will be possible again on Monday.
