Gov. Baker Orders Flags At Half-Staff Following 'Heinous' Dallas Shootings
BOSTON (CBS) – Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker called the shootings of police officers in Dallas "senseless and heinous" and ordered flags on all state buildings be lowered to half-staff for the next five days.

In addition to the death of five police officers killed in Dallas, Baker also referenced Philando Castile and Alton Sterling in his statement, two men recently killed by police.
"My heart breaks for the families and loved ones of the innocent who lost their lives this week in Minnesota, Louisiana and Texas and I hope our nation can come together after a tumultuous and difficult period for so many across the country," Baker said.

Baker added that all Massachusetts state buildings will lower their flags to half-staff until sunset on Tuesday in honor of the Dallas officers who were shot and killed by a sniper on Thursday night at the end of a Black Lives Matter rally.
The order includes administrative buildings throughout Massachusetts, other state-owned or state-controlled buildings and any state military facility.
"Last night's deadly attacks on Dallas law enforcement represent a senseless and heinous crime against our brave first responders who put their lives at risk every day to keep our communities safe," said Baker. "Our administration is in constant communication with federal and local partners to ensure the safety and security of our communities in the Commonwealth."
