The bat signal is burning bright...and it's Ben Affleck answering the call.
The Boston native is taking on the role of the caped crusader in the new Batman-Superman movie due out in 2015.
Director Zack Snyder says "(Affleck) has the acting chops to create a layered portrayal of a man who is older and wiser than Clark Kent and bears the scars of a seasoned crime fighter, but retain the charm that the world sees in billionaire Bruce Wayne."
Affleck joins Batman alums Christian Bale, George Clooney, Val Kilmer and Michael Keaton wearing the cape and mask.
This isn't unchartered territory for Ben.
You'll remember he played a blind crime fighter in the movie "Daredevil" back in 2003.
