DA: Pregnant Nantucket Woman Was Shot Multiple Times
BARNSTABLE (CBS) — Cape and Islands District Attorney Michael O'Keefe said that the skeletal remains found in Falmouth last week are that of a missing Nantucket woman.

WBZ-TV's Kathy Curran first reported that the remains belong to 23-year-old Trudie Hall, who went missing two years ago. Hall was four months pregnant when she left Nantucket July 27, 2010 for a visit to Hyannis. Detectives later found Hall's rental car with blood in it at Routes 6 and 132.
"I knew it, that she was out there, and needed to be found, I could feel it in my heart," said Vivienne Walker, Trudie's mother. "I'm just really thanking God that he allowed this to happen, to get that era closed and put her to rest."
O'Keefe said Tuesday that Hall was shot multiple times, and added that investigators recovered good ballistics evidence from the scene. They will look to see if there is a match with the ballistics evidence found in Hall's car two years ago.
"Somebody needs to pay for what they have done because she doesn't deserve that," says Walker. "No child deserves to be killed that way, especially because she is four months pregnant, the baby was kicking."
Hall's body was found last week by a dog-walker in an area not searched before by authorities, O'Keefe said.
"We are now requesting that anyone who either knowingly or unknowingly aided Trudie's killer come forward by contacting the Massachusetts State Police," said O'Keefe.
The suspect could be charged with a double murder, as Hall's unborn baby may be considered viable, which means the baby may have been able to survive had it been born prematurely.
