Cyclist Struck, Killed By Car In Worcester

WORCESTER (CBS) -- Police are investigating a Belmont Street crash that killed a cyclist Wednesday.

The bicyclist, a 54-year-old Shrewsbury man, was pronounced dead at a local hospital. He has not yet been identified.

He was struck by a 1998 Volkswagen Beetle driven by a 29-year-old man. Worcester Police interviewed the driver, along with another witness. They said the car was driving in the right lane, and struck the bike traveling on the right side of the road.

Police are still investigating the crash.
