Crews Extinguish Gas Main Fire In Bedford
BEDFORD (CBS) --- Firefighters put out a gas line fire near Middlesex Turnpike and Plank Street.
At one point, the flames shot high into the air.
It happened in an industrial park, about four miles from the Burlington Mall.
National Grid says crews and a construction company were working there and one technician suffered minor burns.
A backhoe that was adjacent to the main also caught fire.
Gas is now shut off in the area.
The Industrial park houses industrial tanks filled with bulk liquid oxygen.
The State Fire Marshal says it is unlikely he will respond since there is a known cause of the fire.
