Crawford, Drew To Sit Friday Against Mariners
BOSTON (CBS) - With yet another lefthanded starter opposing the Red Sox Friday night, manager Terry Francona will be shuffling his lineup again.
Mike Cameron and Darnell McDonald, both of whom are righthanded hitters, will oppose Seattle lefty Jason Vargas.
Cameron (just 3-23 this year) will take over in right field for J.D. Drew and bat seventh, while McDonald (just 2-15 this year) will patrol left field in favor of Carl Crawford and bat ninth.
Crawford, a lefty, is struggling against lefties and righties this year. He has the fourth-worst batting average among regulars in the American League, sporting a .160 mark with just five extra-base hits and four stolen bases.
J.D. Drew, who also bats from the left side, is batting .274 with a HR and five RBI so far this season.
