Crawford Arrives At Spring Training, Fields Fly Balls
FORT MYERS, Fla. (CBS) -- Red Sox left fielder Carl Crawford showed up here at camp Monday morning in Fort Myers.
Under sunny skies, Crawford shagged fly balls while many of the minor leaguers hit.
Crawford is expected to be out at least for the start of the season after undergoing surgery on his left wrist. Apparently, the wrist bothered him through most of last season when he struggled at the plate. Crawford hit just .255, the lowest average he's ever had in his 10-year career.

Crawford didn't have his left wrist taped and looked fine as he fielded some fly balls. The Sox will take their time with him as they want him to as close to 100 percent as possible.
Bobby Valentine said last week that he expects Crawford to miss at least the first couple of weeks of the season. Cody Ross, Darnell McDonald and Ryan Sweeney are among those expected to fill in until Crawford is ready to play.
