Coworkers Donate Time Off So Nurse Can Get Cancer Treatment
CAMBRIDGE (CBS) - When Megan, a Certified Nurse Midwife at Mount Auburn Hospital was diagnosed with cancer, her colleagues stepped in to help.
She went for treatment at the Hoffman Breast Center right at her hospital.
She used all of her earned off time for chemotherapy, but needed more. Her co-workers donated their time off, giving up a total of six weeks so she could continue the treatment.
Megan is now cancer free, back to work and incredibly lucky and grateful to have such amazing coworkers.
On Tuesday night, Megan will share her story at the hospital's Storytellers event to help raise money for the Hoffman Breast Center.
