Cooler & More Refreshing

Drier air is working its way into Southern New England.

Overall, it will be a comfortable August day with a sun/cloud combo along with highs in the upper 70s to lower 80s... coolest for coastal communities.

A surface low will dive south of the area tonight, but that will also bring us a slight chance of a few showers grazing the South Coast/Cape/Islands.

Otherwise, skies will be clearer the farther north that you reside.

Quiet weather will be the trend through the end of the work week.  High temperatures will not be oppressive but rather seasonable in the upper 70s to lower 80s.

This Weekend:

Saturday is looking like it will turn out completely dry. There will most likely be more clouds late in the day. Highs will be in the lower to  middle 80s.

Sunday is a tough call in terms of timing out the showers/storms. The GFSx model has just slowed down the movement of the cold front. So, I decided to go with a chance of showers and storms, especially in the afternoon and evening.

The EURO provides a chance of rain earlier in the day. From prior experience, I've learned to lean towards the slower solution this time of year.

Watch Melissa's forecast:

Beach & Boating:  Winds will become ENE 5-10 kts...2 ft seas.

T.S. Emily Update:  Max.sustained winds: 50mph...moving WNW @ 14 mph
