Convict Pleads Guilty to 1992 Taunton Murder Of City Planner
TAUNTON, Mass. (AP) - A man accused of killing a Taunton city official nearly two decades ago has pleaded guilty to manslaughter.
Prosecutors say 39-year-old Timothy Imbriglio pleaded guilty on Thursday in connection with the February 1992 death of Taunton City Planner Gerald Rose.
The 39-year-old Rose was strangled in his apartment on Valentine's Day.
The Taunton Daily Gazette reports that his body was discovered three days later by his mother, who became concerned after not hearing from him.
Imbriglio, a former New Bedford resident, was charged with the killing in 2006 after being linked to the death through DNA evidence. He was serving a 12 to 16-year sentence at the time for another killing.
Imbriglio is scheduled to be sentenced June 7.
