Confirmed Bobcat Sighting On Cape Cod Is First In Centuries
FALMOUTH (CBS) – Wildlife officials have confirmed that an animal caught on video in Falmouth was indeed a bobcat.
The video of the bobcat was captured by Falmouth resident Chris Leboeuf.
Leboeuf says he took the video on Friday just before midnight outside his home, which borders a wooded conservation area. He also spotted the cat a few nights later in the same area.
This is the first confirmed sighting of a bobcat on the Cape on record dating back to 1800's.
Last year, a bear made it's way up the Cape in what was believed to be the first sighting in the area in recorded history.
