Colvin: You Can't Sleep On The Ravens

The Patriots handled the Denver Broncos easily on Saturday night at Gillette. Now, the Pats must prepare for the AFC Championship game against the Baltimore Ravens.

Former Patriots linebacker Rosevelt Colvin spoke with Toucher & Rich Tuesday about New England's win over Denver and the Baltimore Ravens.

During the regular season there was so much concern about the Patriots defense. Now the Pats are the favorite to win the Super Bowl. Has this defense evolved to the point where they should be a favorite to win the Super Bowl or is this just a reflection of the competition they faced?

"I think it's a little bit of both. We've talked about all year long a couple missing pieces of a defense that was sort of average, Patrick Chung and then Spikes comes back. What they bring is Spikes obviously brings attitude Chung brings attitude, but they bring play makers as well," said Colvin.

Are people underestimating the Baltimore Ravens?

"I don't think they look at them as a major, major threat. I even tweeted it myself, I was not impressed with their offense and that's the one thing I think that has held them back all year long," said Colvin.

This Ravens defense is probably the weakest it has looked in years. How would Colvin compare it to Ravens defenses of year's past?

"Don't get it twisted, don't think just because they don't put up the number one defensive ranking like they did when they won the Super Bowl they won't be able to impose their will. You saw that a couple of years ago when they came in," said Colvin.

They looked at the match up of the Patriots tight ends against the Ravens defense. The Patriots give so many teams trouble because they show teams so many different looks than they have in the past because of their two tight end set.

"You definitely feel confident and there's a check mark on the Patriots side because of what Gronkowski and Hernandez have done throughout this season," said Colvin.
