Colder Air Settles In

Cold air is seeping southward and bringing us unseasonably cold air for the next couple of days. Highs will only reach the low to middle 20s today.  Saturday won't get much warmer with highs still in the 20s.

The upper level pattern is allowing for numerous, quick-moving Alberta Clippers to head our way.  The first will be Saturday evening thru early Sunday morning as light snow spreads across Southern New England. This will provide nothing more than a 'candy-coating' to half an inch. Then, another 'Clipper' taps into more Gulf moisture on Tuesday.  The models are showing different amounts of warm air advection so I think this could turn out to be a wintry mix situation.  Then, a third 'Clipper' makes a run for us Thursday night thru early Friday.  At this moment, it looks minor with a few snow showers associated with its passage.  Being 7 days out, this has lots of room to change.

To clarify from yesterday morning's post, I do love snow. I like when the snow is falling, and I enjoy the freshly-fallen snow. However, after a handful of days, I think it's time to melt the old and bring on the new.  For those of you who asked, I do like to ice skate, ski, sled, etcetera.  Fall and Winter are my favorite seasons.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Melissa :)
