Cold Blast...
A cold front is approaching from the NW right now...out ahead of it, winds are a bit gusty but temps will climb to a mild range of 55-60. Clouds will overspread the area late in the day but this frontal passage should stay dry and rain-free. The front will slide through tonight and temps will fall off to the coldest levels of the season...most spots will be in the 20s by morning.
High pressure will settle in quickly tomorrow leading to lots of sunshine but temps will struggle to reach 50...well below average. Warmer air will be on the rebound late Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, as a result, thick clouds will be present and maybe a few showers of both rain or perhaps snow (first flakes will be possible especially in elevated areas early Wednesday morning).
The chill won't last long however as a large storm will swirl up to our NW over the second half of the week sending balmy air into New England...highs will near 60 on Halloween and mid 60s on Friday. Along with the warmth, lots of wind and some rain will be seen as well. In fact, a few showers may be around for the Trick-or-Treaters but the bulk of the heavy rain won't fall until late Thursday night and Friday...there will also be quite a bit of wind stripping leaves off of most of the trees.
