Coastal Cooldown

Onshore winds this time of year bring us a tale of two stories in terms of our local forecast...warmer and sunnier to the west, cloudy and cooler to the east.  The water temperatures is currently in the lower 40s.  We can expect a better chance of sunny breaks this afternoon and mainly to the west. Highs will be 40-45F closer to the coast.  However, temperatures will be closer to 50F for cities and towns located farther west and those backyards that see some afternoon sunshine.  Winds will begin from the northeast, shift to the east during the midday hours, and eventually shift to the southeast this evening.

Clouds will dominate tonight as a trough nears New England. Showers will be introduced into the forecast late tonight.  We'll continue with overcast conditions along with scattered showers throughout the day on Friday.  Highs will be near 50F, give or take a few degrees, with a light southeast wind.

Last Winter weekend of '12:  St. Patrick's Day will be a nice one with increasing sunshine and highs flirting with 60F...50s for the coast.  Sunday will be even better with mostly sunny skies and highs in the middle 60s!

On Monday, we can say 'Good-bye, Winter' as it's the last full day of Winter '12.  It will be a tad cooler with a wind shift as highs hover near 60F.

The Vernal Equinox is this Tuesday, March 20.  It's going to make a beautiful debut with partly cloudy skies and highs in the 70s!

A blocking pattern will set-up for the majority of next week.  Dry weather will be the name of the game.

One Alarm Clock Away...
