Coast Guard Halts Search For Possible Missing Person On Charles River
CAMBRIDGE (AP) - The U.S. Coast Guard is halting a search for a possible missing person after failing to turn up anyone when an unattended boat was found on the Charles River near Cambridge.
Petty Officer Luke Clayton of the Coast Guard in Boston said Sunday there was no evidence anyone was on board and no calls were received following the discovery of the vessel Sunday morning. He says the search has been put on standby.
He said Cambridge firefighters and police and helicopters helped in the search after the small vessel was found drifting with its motor on.
No information about the boat was immediately available.
