Cliff Divers Show Off Their Skills In Boston
BOSTON (CBS) - The Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series has landed in Boston this weekend.
The athletes live life on the edge and they love it.
Rather than leaping from natural cliffs the athletes are diving off of a special platform affixed to the roof of The Institute of Contemporary Art.
WBZ-TV's Paul Burton reports
Diver Alain Kohl says it's, "really cool to dive from such an urban place."
The divers are judged based on take off, flight and entry. Four-time Olympic gold medalist Greg Louganis will judge this weekend's competition.
"This is 27 meters (92 feet) high, almost three times what I used to do," says Louganis. "It's pretty hairy."
These are considered some of the best cliff divers in the world. And today they were just warming up. Saturday, they take it to a whole different level.
