Clay Buchholz Suffers Hamstring Strain, Will Be Re-Evaluated Wednesday

BOSTON (CBS) -- Pitchers and catchers participated in their first official workout of spring training on Tuesday, which usually is a day of great excitement for players and fans alike.

For Clay Buchholz, however, that excitement disappeared rather quickly.

The Red Sox righty suffered a strained hamstring while running fielding drills, ending his workout early.

WBZ-TV's Dan Roche reported that manager John Farrell said that Buchholz will be re-evaluated on Wednesday.

Buchholz On Injury:

Buchholz, 28, is coming off a season in which he made the most starts (29) and threw the most innings (189.1) of his career. He went 11-8 with a 4.56 ERA.
