Julien Jokes With Reporters When Asked Where Jagr Will Fit On Bruins' Lines
BOSTON (CBS) -- Tuesday was a busy and eventful day for Claude Julien, so by the time he headed to his postgame press conference at the TD Garden, he might not have really had the energy to thoroughly explain all of his thought processes. But the Bruins' coach was still willing to have a little fun.
Following Boston's 3-2 win over Ottawa, in which the two teams combined to take 97 shots and Patrice Bergeron left due to injury, Julien was asked by a reporter on which line he expects to place Jaromir Jagr when the future Hall of Famer joins the team this week.
"Well, you know what my thinking was, was to say nothing tonight and let you guys figure it out and you can write all the line combinations tomorrow," Julien said. "Maybe I'll look at some of those, maybe some of you guys will be winners."
The reporter then asked what the prize would be for whichever writer correctly guessed the line combinations.
"There may be a prize," Julien laughed. "You get to practice with the Bruins."
In a more serious discussion, Julien dismissed the notion that Jagr could disrupt some of the chemistry in the locker room.
"You've been in our dressing room, right? There's a lot of different personalities and there has been some different personalities and its' never been an issue before," Julien said. "I haven't really had a chance to spend much time with Jagr, so I'm not going to comment on that because I'll take the time to get to know him.
"You hear a lot of gossip out there, and a lot of times half of it is B.S.," he continued. "So I think we have to give this guy a chance."
